CamVerse Tutorial Series

Welcome to our 12-part tutorial series on CamVerse and Virtual Production, designed especially for educators and filmmakers!

 

In this series, we’ll guide you step-by-step through how to use CamVerse to create immersive, interactive storytelling experiences. Whether you’re planning for your next lesson or producing your next film, these tutorials will help you explore new ways to blend real and virtual worlds with ease.

Introduction

Episode 1:  Your Workspace

​In this session, we’ll show you how to set up a simple virtual production studio. You’ll learn what basic equipment you need, such as a camera, lights, green screen, and a capable PC. As well as how to connect everything to start capturing and creating your own virtual scenes quickly and easily.

Episode 2: Setting up CamVerse

In this session, we’ll guide you through setting up CamVerse Studio 3 step-by-step. You’ll learn how to install the software, connect your camera and tracking devices, and link them for real-time virtual production.

Episode 3: Input Configuration and Image Setup

In this session, we’ll show you how to set up Image Input, Calibration Files, and Free-D Tracking in CamVerse Studio 3. You’ll learn how to pick your video source, load the correct calibration file, configure Free-D settings, and adjust tracking delay or offsets for accurate alignment. We’ll also cover how to enable lens focus control when using a Free-D lens encoder.

Episode 4: Capturing Live-Feed

In this video, we'll break down every method you can use to record your footage. Whether you're using your PC webcam, OBS and Spout2, or an iPhone with LiDAR tracking, we got you covered.
We’ll walk you through PC recording, NDI setup, connecting your iPhone, and more so that you’ll be ready to shoot high-quality content for your virtual production scenes.

Episode 5: The Keyer

In this session, we’ll show you how to use the Keyer in CamVerse Studio 3 to remove your green screen background. You’ll learn how to fine-tune the key settings for clean edges, adjust lighting for better results, and seamlessly blend your subject into any virtual environment.

Episode 6: The Studio

In this session, we’ll walk you through the Studio interface in CamVerse Studio 3, showing you how to preview the green screen block, adjust its position and size, and fine-tune the walls, floor, and ceiling so everything aligns perfectly with your real studio space.

Episode 7: Scene Selection and Importing of Assets

In this session, we’ll show you how to navigate the Scene tab in CamVerse Studio 3. From switching between scenes to managing 3D models, you’ll learn how to use the Mesh Importer to bring in external assets, adjust them with position, rotation, and scale tools, and remove models when needed.

Episode 8: Virtual Human AI Motion Capture (Redpill)

In this session, we’ll guide you through the Virtual Human – AI Motion Capture features in CamVerse Studio 3. You’ll learn how to launch Redpill Go Hub, enable full-body and facial tracking, set up LiveLink streaming, and calibrate your actor. Once everything is connected, your virtual character will move, gesture, and emote in real time—perfect for performance capture and virtual production workflows.

Episode 9: Scene Features

In this session, we’ll walk you through the Scene features in CamVerse Studio 3, including charts, monitors, and 360° environments. You’ll learn how to set up pie charts and bar charts, switch video sources on the in-scene monitor, update images and logos, and import panoramic images to build immersive 360° backgrounds. I’ll also show you how to adjust position, rotation, scale, and brightness to make everything look clean and professional in your virtual scene.

Episode 10: The Cameras

In this session, we’ll guide you through the Tracking and Virtual Camera tools in CamVerse Studio 3. You’ll learn how to switch between camera modes, adjust lighting, brightness, and render quality, and use the billboard preview to set up foreground and background elements. Additionally, learn how to crop and orient your images, and configure multiple virtual camera paths for smooth movements and transitions in your scenes. 

Episode 11: Avatars (Neocore)

In this session, we’ll guide you through Live Link Multi-Person Motion Capture in CamVerse Studio 3. You’ll learn how to launch Redpill NeoCore, set up motion capture for multiple actors, and enable LiveLink streaming. Additionally, learn how to add multiple Avatars, connect them to LiveLink streams, and adjust their position, rotation, and scale in the 3D scene for real-time motion capture of multiple actors.

Episode 12: Art-Net Lighting Feature

In this session, we’ll show you how to synchronize virtual and physical lighting using Art-Net in CamVerse Studio 3. Learn how to connect DMX-compatible fixtures, and download fixture profiles from the Open Fixture Library. I’ll walk you through adding and managing them in the Art-Net tab, adjusting intensity and RGB colors, and configuring settings so your physical lights match your virtual scene perfectly.
